The ALERTMON component of the Performance Trend Analyzer product monitors batch jobs real-time. The user can define alert thresholds for Elapsed Time. CPU Service Units, I-O Service Units, Total Service Units, late start time or late end time. One or more actions can be specified to take place if a threshold is tripped. ALERTMON can be tailored to send an email, display a message on the MVS console or issue an Operator command. Companies can use their own automation tools, such as Netview or CA-OPS, to initiate custom action against the job when the ALERTMON error message is encountered.

PTA helps you focus your tuning efforts by ranking the impact that jobs and started tasks have on system resources. You control the ranking weight and bias, such as Elapsed Time or CPU Service Units.

PTA provides an easy to use graphical reporting component that can produce a high quality chart in seconds.

With the QUICK TREND option of PTA you can display Trend Charts directly under ISPF.
